MOBBING SEPTEMBER 22

You are cordially invited to join our Cash Mob St Paul MN group on Saturday, September 22nd! We will patronize two more businesses affected by Green Line – Central Corridor Light Rail construction in St. Paul. They are located a few blocks west of the intersection with Dale Street. Several of the streets are still blocked in this area so you may have to drive around a bit to gain access to these businesses. Thank you in advance for your patience and persistence.

We will meet on Saturday starting time of 11am at Trung Nam French Bakery. Load up on baguettes, croissants and yummy baked goods. They are located at 739 University Avenue West, 55104 on the north side of the road. Their phone number is 651-229-0887. There is a small parking lot but you may want to park on a side street. At NOON we will be gathering at Homi Mexican Restaurant situated at 864 University Avenue West, and phone number is 651-222-0655. Fresh meals made from scratch and Grandma’s recipes. They are on the south side of the road in a yellow building. Homi’s parking lot is tiny so it might be easiest to park on Victoria or a side street. Their website is www.homirestaurant.com

Please join us for either or both of these mobful events. Construction has been arduous for all businesses along University Avenue. Mindfully spending your cash at a local retail venue has a positive impact on the entire community since local entrepreneurs are more likely to spend their income locally and that stimulates other businesses. Franchises and chain-stores have a huge advantage over small shops, that is why we focus on locally owned independent stores.

MOBBING SOMETHING NEW

Cash Mob St Paul MN’s first event occurred on Thursday, July 19th. We met at Something New in the Park a delightful artist cooperative gift shop. Alas, we were a mini-mob but very dedicated. Our east metro version of the Mob For Good’s mission to support locally-owned businesses. Sorry, no chain stores or franchises qualify even if a local person owns them. We focus on the places where new customers really have a positive impact. We want to help them survive during the prolonged economic difficulties.

Something New is a enchanting store. It offers an array of jewelry, funky craft items, clothing, and charming what-nots. Perfect place to procure a gift or a fun item for yourself. Friendly workers and options to customize the merchandise (since the artist is local). Something New is located at 2301 Como Avenue, Suite 101, St Paul, MN 55108. It is at the corner of Como and Doswell Avenues in the St. Anthony Park area of St. Paul, near the State Fairgrounds and University of Minnesota-St. Paul Campus. It is downstairs in the Healy Building, kitty corner from Speedy Market. Street parking is available and on the bus-line. CASH MOB ST PAUL MN EVENT NUMBER ONE

Announcing our FIRST Cash Mob St Paul MN event!! Help support a local business by spending at least $20 cash at this event. More details are on our Facebook page "Cash Mob St Paul MN" Join our community and come to our events as they fit your schedule.
Date: July (look on our page for exact date)
Time:  6pm
Location: TO BE ANNOUNCED a day or two before the event, please check back on the Facebook page for details. Somewhere in the East Metro area of the Twin Cities (Ramsey, Dakota, or Washington County).

The cash mob rules are simple.
1. Spend $20 cash (more or less but cash does speed up the check out process).
2. Chat with three people that you don’t know but please bring along a friend or two.
3. Enjoy yourself! We want this to be a fun experience for everyone.
